This is a compilation video of racers KATELYN PARHIALA, LAUREN BECKOS, ALEXANDRA MITCHELL, ASHLEY LINDEMAN, MADELINE TEN KATE, and HANNAH KNUDSEN on the slalom course during the Alpine Combined competition of the 2025 A Racer’s Edge Masters National Championships at Gore Mountain.

Day 4 of the 2025 A Racer’s Edge Masters National Championships at Gore Mountain brought Groups A/B to the GS course on Echo for two runs. Groups C/D moved to the slalom course on Jamboree with an incredibly intense blue sky as my backdrop at the top of the last pitch. I got this gift for both days of slalom. Be sure to look at Day 3’s slalom with the A/B groups.

Day 3 was insane.

The weather started out freezing with snow. By afternoon the snow was breaking down. You could hear the melt.

With that said, the pictures were great, a testament to the quality of the racers.

Check out the day 3 slideshow!

Two days of Alpine Combined opened the 2025 A Racer’s Edge Masters National Championships at Gore Mountain, NY.

Super G in the morning led into afternoon slalom, both taking place on Gore’s famous Echo trail.

Mark Serti took overall for the men with a combined time of 1:45.03 for his two events. Richard Jefferson finished second with 1:45.90 and Mark George in third with 1:46.53.

Alexandra Mitchell was first for all women with a combined time of 1:45.73, with sisters Andrea and Jacqueline Levy taking second and third respectively with 1:51.04 and 1:53.63.

The events continue through Saturday, March 22. If yesterday and today are indicative, it will be a challenge for the racers with spring-like conditions.

Yesterday, I took one run down the length of Echo during inspection. It was not what I think of as snow. The ice base in the morning gave a dangerous racetrack feel to the first pitch. Slipping down the course was a harrowing experience. I was glad my daughter sharpened my skis before I left home.

The race crew at Gore Mountain is exemplary. They provided a top notch race course under extreme conditions, including a quick turn around for Super G and Slalom on the same day on Echo trail.

Check out the videos. I picked my favorite images from the days. The entire gallery of images is on sbi.smugmug.com in the skiing section.

Thanks for allowing me to photograph your accomplishments at the 2025 A Racer’s Edge Masters National Championships. Gore Mountain is a challenging venue for all of us. My goal is to capture the essence of the competition with as many of you involved as possible.

I hope you will enjoy the photographs as much as I do in taking them. As a newspaper photojournalist, I cut my teeth on local sports, eventually having the luck and skill to photograph some of the greatest athletes of my generation. I love sports photography and capturing the heart and soul of an athlete pushing themselves farther than humanly possible. It’s in all of us just waiting to be immortalized on film.

Hopefully you will feel that way about my images.

My display at the awards is high quality aluminum prints, ink jet 13” x 19” prints, photo magnets, coasters and a coffee mug. They are all available on my https://sbi.smugmug.com website with daily galleries in the US Nationals 2025 section.

If you have a specific photograph that you are interested in and would like to discuss its display, please contact me at this email or phone number below.

My favorite with ski photographs is aluminum which brings out the colors of the gs suit against the white of the snow.3
