It's Time to go to Amsterdam: Story, photos and video by Mark D Phillips

Three Days in Amsterdam

Traveling to Amsterdam for fun seemed impossible not that long ago. A three day visit from New York brought back the old joy of visiting one of Europe’s greatest cities of art, water and fun. It’s a Beyond Brooklyn experience for everyone.

In July this year, New York made a momentous decision to ban smoking in all state-owned parks, beaches, and other public spaces in the city.

Governor Kathy Hochul effectively prohibited the use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes in all state-owned beaches, boardwalks, marinas, playgrounds, recreation centers, and group camps. Individuals caught smoking in these designated areas will be penalized with a civil fine of $50.

The Legacy of Arthur Ashe

On the 30th anniversary of the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, the annual Sportsball gala is returning to where it began — the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan. It has been my honor to document this event for over twenty years, photographing titans of sports, art and entertainment. My favorite images? Watch 30 Years of Sportsball | Mark D Phillips
