I first met Allan while working for the Associated Press in the early 1990s. It wasn't till much later that I discovered his catalog of some of Rock 'N Roll's greatest bands, and celebrities showing their true selves in his portraits. One of my favorites has Jack Nicholson relaxed on a coach with his arms stretched out in a setting that mirrors "The Shining."
