PhotoPlus Expo will feature over 100 educational seminars, Photo Walks, Intensive Classes and Master Classes, and over 200 exhibitors displaying thousands of the latest products and services for you to touch, try and compare at the Javits Center from October 25 to October 28, 2017, in New York City.
Designed for professionals in the photographic and imaging industries as well as enthusiasts, PhotoPlus Expo showcases the latest advances in photography, digital imaging and filmmaking. Held annually at the Javits Convention Center, attendees have the opportunity to explore an inspiring array of photography and imaging products and services - all from the industry's leading manufacturers. The show also offers seminars and intimate Photo Walks and Master Classes taught by world-renowned experts that focus on cutting-edge innovations and techniques.
Emerald Expositions, Inc. has announced its lineup of featured keynote presentations at this year’s PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo. Education has always been the cornerstone of PhotoPlus. Whether it’s participating in hands-on seminars and photo walks or listening to inspirational stories of success and this year’s conference will be no exception. The lineup of keynote speakers at PhotoPlus Expo 2017 can collectively be summarized in three words: dedication, passion, and inspiration. The lunchtime keynote presentations will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Registration is required and seats are limited.
“We are very excited about this year’s lineup of keynote presentations and the inspiration each is expected to provide to attendees,” says Lauren Wendle, vice president and publisher, Photo+. “Education comes in all forms including personal experiences shared by our keynote speakers and we expect attendees to walk away with a clearer sense of how these experiences can be applied to their own business.”
On Thursday, October 26, three enormously successful women photographers will share their work, as well as some of the challenges each faced during their rise to the top of a field typically dominated by men. Sue Bryce, Barbara Davidson, and LaToya Ruby Frazier are three of the most successful photographers in the industry, regardless of gender, who will share their thoughts on making images that have personal meaning and universal relevance.
For over 35 years, renowned street photographer Jamel Shabazz has been making images driven by a mission “to inspire peace and harmony.” In this keynote presentation on Friday, October 27, he’ll share the stories behind his most iconic photos, his enduring connection to the young people he photographed, and his commitment to sharing what was best in his community.
PhotoPlus Expo comes to a close on Saturday, October 28, but not before business entrepreneurs and tech experts Gary Vaynerchuk and Chase Jarvis discuss and help resolve “real life” business problems from audience participants and create an open dialogue in this unique and interactive keynote presentation.

In this keynote presentation, Jamel Shabazz will share images from his incredible collection of photo books, including Back in The Days, the groundbreaking bestseller that remains in print more than 15 years after its debut, along with images from his recent collection, Sights in the City. The most dynamic aspect of his presentation will be the stories behind his most iconic photos, his enduring connection to the young people he photographed, and his commitment to sharing what was best in his community. In this motivational talk, Shabazz will share his optimistic commitment to using photography as a force for good.

Rounding out the Keynote Lecture Series, and PhotoPlus Expo, will be a high-energy, motivational talk featuring CEO and co-founder of CreativeLive and photographer, Chase Jarvis and renowned entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk.
Gary Vaynerchuk and Chase Jarvis have reached the pinnacle of success in both business and their respective crafts. In this seminar, Chase Jarvis and Gary Vaynerchuk will entertain and inspire with high-energy conversation and help the audience understand where they can improve their ability to make a living and spend a lifetime doing what they love. During the keynote, Jarvis and Vaynerchuk will address business questions directly from the audience.
More than 200 exhibitors and brands of imaging hardware, software, and accessories will be on hand to demonstrate the latest technology in the world of photography and filmmaking, conduct free educational presentations at their booth, and offer special discounts on products and services throughout the Expo.
Additional learning opportunities can be found inside the Adobe Theater, which will be conveniently located on the show floor. Renowned photographers, filmmakers, and educators will conduct 30-minute seminars during the entire Expo to provide attendees with additional tips and tricks for improving their craft, and their business.

PW15 - Automotive Photography on Location at the Classic Car Club of Manhattan with Mark Jenkinson and Kathryn Greenbaum

Join Mark Jenkinson for a Photo Walk at Classic Car Club Manhattan on Manhattan’s West Side Highway, where you’ll learn the ins and outs of shooting automobiles on location.
