Dredging and Capping Pilot Study

The large crane pulled into the Fourt Street Basin of the Gowanus Canal in late Otober 2017 and is a part of the Dredging and Capping Pilot Study to rebuild the bulkheads along the canal with metal prior to the dredging of the canal.

The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is bringing back the Gowanus Challenge on October 7, 2017, beginning at their boathouse by the Carroll Bridge in Brooklyn. Last held in 2014, the Gowanus Challenge is geared to bring awareness to the Gowanus Canal and act as a fundraiser.
