The 1250ft Photo Exhibition, THE FENCE, has been installed along the Greenway of the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge Park for it's 4th year and is projected to attract over 1.5 million visitors this summer!

Once again, the work on display is outstanding in its diversity, power, and subject matter, while the jury process becomes harder with every passing year as the bar is constantly raised. THE FENCE is an annual, summer-long, outdoor photographic exhibition inaugurated in 2012 as a sister initiative to Photoville in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

SAVE THE DATE - FENCE TOUR THURS JULY 23
United Photo Industries will be organizing a tour of the FENCE led by the Photoville team as well as many of the featured artists of the FENCE on Thursday July 23, 2015 in Brooklyn Bridge Park! It will be a day of celebration as the Winner of the Jury's choice prize will be announced, receiving a Solo Show in one of the Exhibition Containers at Photoville this year!

Each year, a jury of 40+ photography professionals from around the world selects a group of 40-60 photographers whose work exemplifies the essence of “community” across cultural boundaries and geographical lines.

Following its success at Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2012, THE FENCE has rapidly expanded its geographical reach, adding a specially curated exhibit at the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway in Boston in 2103, and a third location at the Atlanta BeltLine in 2014. In 2015, THE FENCE will also travel to Houston, in a brand new partnership with the Houston Center for Photography.

To mark its 4th edition, THE FENCE will present large-scale outdoor exhibitions in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, and Boston (including a specially curated “New England” FENCE) – drawing an audience of more than 3 million visitors.

THE FENCE provides widespread exposure and career opportunities to participating photographers, while providing unprecedented access to powerful photographic narratives for a wide and diverse audience.

THE FENCE was conceived by United Photo Industries and Photo District News in 2011. Over the past 4 years, it has grown and flourished through a series of strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations, which include Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Flash Forward Festival, Atlanta Celebrates Photography and the Houston Center for Photography.
