“If You Believe in Paradise…”, paintings by LYNTON WELLS, opens at the 313 BUTLER STREET GALLERY on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 3pm to 7pm, with Lynton Wells and Anthony Haden-Guest in Conversation at 4pm. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Born in Baltimore, MD, in 1940, Lynton Wells received a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design and a M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He has exhibited extensively in the US and abroad with over 150 group and solo shows since 1970, and has work in numerous public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Walker Art Center, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Dallas Museum of Art.  The artist currently resides in New York City.

Anthony Haden-Guest is a British-American writer, reporter, cartoonist, art critic, poet, and socialite who lives in New York City and London. He is a frequent contributor to major magazines and has had several books published.

There’s nothing like a magical night under the stars listening to music. When that experience includes one of my favorite artists appearing in one of my favorite places in the world, it’s at the top of my bucket list.

It all came to be with a simple Facebook post.

50 years ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon.

On July 20, 1969, humans walked on another world for the first time in history, achieving the goal that President John F. Kennedy had set in 1961, before Americans had even orbited the Earth.
