Federica Brignone muscles to victory on Superstar

It was Federica's day. After moving from the 6th starting position to a 2nd place first run finish, Brignone tore up the course in the second run to finish .49 ahead of Ragnhild Mowinckel of Norway.

Federica Brignone of Italy took the first place podium in a stunning show at the Killington Cup. She finished second to Tessa Worley at Solden during the first race of the season on October 27.

Stephanie Brunner of Austria came in the third position. Mikaela Shiffrin, who had the dubious honor of running first down the Giant Slalom course, finished in sixth on the first run, and managed to move into Fourth place, just missing a podium finish.

With 18,000 fans in attendance, the Killington Cup has been a three-year success for the entire northeast ski industry. The officials are cagey as to whether FIS will continue with Killington as a venue on the circuit. No other american race has attendance like we have seen at Killington.

Brignone said when she looked back at the crowd from the chairlift, all she could say was "WOW!"

Let's keep it in Vermont.
